Blanca slowly approaches. She comes from a place she already knows and looks back. She wants to tell us something, but we don’t know if she will talk. She looks at us. How many ‘Blancas’ live in her body? For how long have they been hiding, waiting?
‘ICH BIN NICHT NUR EIN KÖRPER, ABER WENN DU WILLST, TANZE ICH’ was created as part of Underground VIII, Tanztheater Wuppertal -Pina Bausch
In this choreographic Solo, Blanca and Pau dialogue with each other, about identity and the exploration of their origins. The circumstances inside and outside Germany. From Wuppertal to Barcelona. Both have a similar path that almost coincidentally brought them together in spring 2005. Since then, there has been a friendship. A friendship that comes from afar. Inspired by the reminiscences of “Brocken” (Underground VI), this piece aims to observe the concepts of power, femininity and freedom in a new prism. To do that, we need to move forward together without first remembering what happened. The paradigm that emerges suggests replacing the political with the poetic.
